Dry Skin
Dry skin and its management is a significant health issue as dry skin can be itchy, unsightly and irritating. Dryness results from the evaporation of water and natural oils from the skin. However, it can often be easily improved, or even cured, by following the helpful hints:
- Bathing and washing should not be excessive. Use baths rather than showers where possible. Bath water should be warm, not excessively hot.
- Excessive exposure to soap, solvents or other cleansers should be avoided. Use a mild soap.
- Regular use of a moisturiser is helpful. These are best applied when the skin is slightly damp.
